Affordable Energy Plan for Botswana - Dean Letlhogonolo Akanyang

An undergraduate of University of Botswana found a solution for the day to day rising cost of energy. With the boost of the agricultural sector in recent years Botswana. With the local supply and imports now there is a regular over supply of vegetables in Botswana. The bad vegetables turn into compost or waste which is not utilized. The sewage at the end of the sewage line as it is not re utilized is left to contribute to a stockpile.

But Dean got an idea to solve this matter . He understood people in Botswana generally rely on electricity & fire woods on cooking.Further during the winter there were regular power cuts. So as a result Botswana is struggling for a permanent cooking energy source for many years.

So he thought If the waste Vegetables use for generating Bio gas, cooking energy issue as well as the environmental issue  generated by pilling up vegetable piles will be settled at the same time. Further there will be a byproduct of compost fertilizer which can be sold to the farmers.

He has a clear plan how to implement his pilot project and ensure Botswana's common man's  cooking energy source much more affordable & environment friendly. He said to Business Tomorrow that If he get an Investor to support his initial development of plant he is confident this project will be a great success.
